We are looking for a Project Design and Build Engineer for a permanent position based with our client in Hull.
Immediate start available (subject to interview process)
Salary Circa £50,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
Responsibilities:
* Role will be client facing throughout the project.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, evaluating project requirements and design specifications.
* Working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and professionals involved in the project.
* Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
* Responsible for the specification and procurement of various equipment packages and their successful integration into a full steam cycle power generation plant.
* Working with process engineers to develop equipment datasheets for procurement purposes
* Attendance and participation in HAZID and HAZOP meetings
* Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and monitor expenses to ensure projects stay within budget.
* Manage contract specialist engineering such as, pressure vessel calcs, Structural calcs, noise studies, flow modelling
* Identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them.
* Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, materials, and services.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical reports, project updates, and change orders in line with client and in house procedures.
* Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders through progress reports and meetings.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
* Fundamental understanding and practical experience working with steam raising and/or process plant
* The ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
* The ability to read and understand Heat and Mass Balances
* The ability to prepare equipment datasheets and undertake procurement activities for 'balance of plant' equipment including pumps, valves, pressure vessels.
* Practical experience project managing the installation of process plant such as boilers, steam turbines, process piping, water treatment and heat exchangers
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
* Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills both internally and client facing.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of Waste Heat Recovery Offshore Oil and Gas an advantage but not mandatory.
* Knowledge of ASME Code, BS 5500, API560, NORSOK advantageous
* Knowledge of Hydraulics and Electrical control systems advantageous.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
* Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
Desired Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Or
* HNC/ONC or similar and multiple years' experience in similar role
