We are looking for a Mechanical Design/Draughtsperson for a permanent position based with our client in Hull.
Immediate start available (subject to interview process)
Salary Circa £45,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
* Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks or similar software.
* Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and equipment layouts.
* Assist in the design and modification of mechanical systems including boilers, , piping systems, and pollution control equipment.
* Review vendor drawings and technical documents for compliance with project specifications.
Plant Systems Involvement
* Support engineering activities related to:
* Waste feeding and handling systems
* Combustion system and Steam Boiler
* Ash handling systems
* Flue gas treatment systems
* Cooling systems and water treatment systems
* Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
* Maintain drawing registers and document control systems.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
* 3-7 years Minimum experience in industrial plants, power plants, or Waste to Energy facilities.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.
* Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and relevant engineering standards.
* Experience in power plant piping and equipment layout is preferred
Technical Skills
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems in thermal power or WTE plants.
* Familiarity with pressure vessels, piping design, structural supports, and rotating equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of fabrication processes and site installation practices.
