Dutton International has been announced as the first tennant of The Portland House Development in Shalesmoor, Sheffield

Amidst a flurry of coverage in the local and regional press, we are proud to announce that our flagship Sheffield Branch will be re-locating late this summer to Portland House in the Shalesmoor area of Sheffield. The Sheffield branch, currently located near Meadowhall beside the M1 , will be the first tenant of Portland House occupying an extensive site in Shalesmoor, which has been acquired by Sheffield-based Davison Property Investments. Following a comprehensive re-fit, the quality office complex, covering 14,000 sq m, will provide high tech facilities including top speed fibre optic internet and the latest top rate security and server storage systems. Adequate for the growing needs of one of the Yorkshire regions largest Recruitment Groups. Matthew Davison, Dutton?s chief executive, said:

Transferring the company?s flagship branch to the city centre is a strategic and purposeful decision to reflect the branch?s ongoing expansion and to increase the company?s presence in Sheffield. We have simply outgrown our current premises and, as we intend to take on more recruitment consultants, we will undoubtedly need even more space in the future, which Portland House will provide. Moreover, we believe that this new office development is a positive contribution towards bringing an area with huge potential back to life by providing extra office space to benefit other businesses which may well create new jobs.

In-line with the projected growth of the Sheffield Branch Portland house will offer additional space for the Managers and Consultants presently working for the company, as well as offering the room to accommodate additional staff. The Group is presently recruiting for experienced Consultants in a multitude of areas to join the branch and fuel its growth. The Shalesmoor area of Sheffield is a tightly packed area and over the last 200 years it has been home to specialist metals and tools production companies. Following the decline of industry in the area many of the buildings have been acquired and are awaiting renovation and re-development. The area is neighbored at either side by the Kelham Island and West Bar districts of the city, both of which have seen multi-million pound investments and regeneration over the past decade. All that remains is for Shalesmoor to follow suit, a move which property developers envisage will happen over the coming years. Portland house marks the first such dramatic overhaul to the area. The building was initially the site of the UK's first Datsun (later Nissan) car dealership which later re-located and the building was let to a telecommunications company which departed in 2008 leaving the building empty for the last 4 years. More news will follow soon on the development of the building marking the Brand's return to the City Centre.
