We are looking for an experienced Shift Team Leader to join our clients operations team at a modern Energy from Waste (EfW) facility. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the plant on a shift basis.
Immediate start available (Subject to interview process)
Salary Circa £50,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
The Role
As Shift Team Leader, you will lead a team of operators and technicians to ensure the continuous generation of energy while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance and operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supervising the shift team to ensure safe and efficient plant operation
* Ensuring compliance with environmental permits, site procedures and H&S legislation
* Monitoring plant performance and responding effectively to operational issues and alarms
* Coordinating maintenance activities and plant isolations
* Managing handovers, shift reports and operational logs
* Acting as the senior operational authority on shift, including emergency response
* Driving a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
Essential requirements:
* Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within EfW, power generation, utilities, or a similar process industry
* Strong knowledge of plant operations, control systems and safe systems of work
* IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
* Excellent communication and decision-making skills
* Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
