We are looking for a Mechanical Site Fitter/Engineer in Sheffield for a permanent position.

Rate of pay is £17.00 per hour (First 37.5 hours) Overtime rate £25.50 (After 37.5 hours)

Your role will involve travelling Nationwide to London, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Scotland.

This will be repairing and maintaining rail depot equipment

Duties of a Site Fitter

* Assisting the Site Engineer in maintenance works and driving the works van
* Maintaining carriage wash systems around different areas nationally including London, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and possibly Scotland.
* Changing gearboxes, motors, bearings, pumps and repairing pipe work
* Re-brushing the machines on site and setup on site in Sheffield
* Monthly maintenance visits
* Some electrical works e.g. wiring gearboxes, replacing switches and basic fault finding would be advantageous
* Overnight will be required on some jobs funded by the company
* Mainly working outdoors
* Clearing blockages and pumps
* Repairing, and installing pipework/valves/sensors etc


The ideal candidate

* You will have Mechanical and/or electrical experience in similar work
* NVQ level 3's preferred
* Good English
* Happy to work outdoors usually a wet environment
* You must be happy to travel and have some overnight stays
* Driving licence is required

Hours:

* The working hours can vary and flexibility is needed; shifts can be a maximum of 14 hour days including travelling.
* Office hours are 8.00am-4.30pm flexible and are required to go over future works.
* There will be a few weekend shifts that are also needed throughout the year as required.
