We are currently looking for a Payroll and Accounts Assistant to be situated near Buxton.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activity across the Payroll and Accounts department within a fast-paced office environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within an Payroll/Accounts department to make an immediate contribution. This is a busy role, assisting the Finance Director and in providing Payroll and accounts support across the group.
You will be home based with occasional travel to sites as and when required and to our client's main office in Buxton.
A return to full time working in Buxton could be implemented going forward, so must be within commutable distance.
Responsibilities:
* Be proficient in recording, updating, and changing information pertaining to wages, expenses, benefits, and employee lifecycle details
* Keep up to date with all legislative changes relating to Payroll
* Knowledge of HMRC and compliance obligations
* Be able to maintain a high and consistent quality of work
* Communicate in a confidential, professional and appropriate manner
* Updating and maintaining records, both manual and electronic
* Assisting with payroll exceptions reporting
* Assist in controlling all Purchase Ledger for all companies within the group
* Filing and general administration tasks
* Manage workload efficiently to ensure deadlines are met
* Carry out and assistant with any other Ad hoc duties and projects when required
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
* Strong payroll knowledge is essential
* The ability to confidently use Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word as well as email packages
* Have an eye for attention to detail
* Be a polite and strong communicator
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Be adaptable to varying tasks
* 3 Years accounts experience in SME company
* Working knowledge of Sage Line 50 & Excel
* Experience in running payroll is essential as is a high level of organisational ability
* AAT desirable
Job Type: Full-time Plus Benefits
Salary: Between £25,000 and £30,000 depending on experience.
