We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a permanent position based in Scarborough.
Rate of pay is: £18.74 per hour.
This will be work dayshift of 7am to 4:45pm, 37 hours a week, 4 days Monday - Thursday
Purpose of Role
To ensure plant availability and engineering resource is available when required to assist the operational function. To provide technical advice, assistance and intervention to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant assets. To carry out machine malfunction rectification work and carry out the plant service schedule in compliance with the PPM system. To be responsible for all aspects of property maintenance. To carry out and document full risk assessments prior to undertaking any engineering activity. To carry out and document full risk assessments prior to undertaking any engineering activity which has not previously been assessed. To produce where required and to ensure adherence to all safe systems of work for all engineering activity and to work to company Health and Safety policy at all times.
Main Duties:
* To be responsible for oneself and engineering team activity on the site
* To maintain all plant assets and conduct a regular PPM service.
* To carry out machine malfunction correction work and ensure plant and equipment is available to meet the operational demands placed upon it in a safe and efficient manner.
* To provide engineering training to new starters and apprentices in the department
* To oversee and participate in all large installations and machine removals/re-positioning where required.
* To ensure all maintenance workloads are covered, maintained & kept to a minimum at all times.
* To communicate regularly with all maintenance and operational staff to ensure problems are reported & resolved.
* Report all maintenance activities & complete activity report up to Plant Maintenance
* Manager as required.
* Ensure all daily, weekly & monthly paperwork is completed correctly.
* Check and maintain all PPE & complete records as required.
* Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor or Group Maintenance Manager to collate information to resolve problem areas, ensuring the department runs smoothly
* Ensure you and other departmental staff are fully equipped with the correct tools and products to do their job
* To ensure all required engineering spare parts and stocks are available as required and reorder used parts
* Responsible for implementing Company Health & Safety Policy in relation to the Maintenance department staff and works areas for which he or she operates. Generate risk assessments and SSoW prior to carrying out an engineering task. Ensure all engineering tasks are assessed for risk and a safe system of work is generated prior to commencing work. To complete permit to work forms and any other documentation as defined in the company Health and Safety policy
* To oversee the activity of contractors and to ensure permits to work are used and worked to at all times
* To maintain ones own work area, the workshop and storage facility
* To accept relevant and appropriate responsibilities as detailed in the document - Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities to be found on the company intranet
* Be prepared to undertake any other duties that will benefit the Company.
Experience
* Experienced mechanical and electrical maintenance background
* Proven mechanical and electrical competency skills and certification
* Certification of all competences
* Ability to work unsupervised and possess a logical and thorough approach to fault finding
* CNC machine tool experienced
* Experience in maintaining PLC controlled machinery (Siemens preferred)
* Pneumatics and hydraulics systems
* Planned preventative maintenance systems
* Experience of material handling conveyor systems
* Experience in electrical installation work
* Health and Safety awareness and experience of conducting risk assessments and generating a SSoW
* Good knowledge of PPM systems and report generation
* PC literate
* Good references
