We are looking for a Metal Recycling Manager for a permanent position in Rotherham.

Role responsibilities:
* Leading a team in the day to day operations of our Stainless and Nickel Alloys department
* Trading, Materials Analysis checks and associated Administration
* Stock Control
* Liaising with and reporting to senior Management
Job Description:
The successful applicant will be responsible for a team of around six experienced semi-skilled and skilled individuals, based out of a dedicated departmental office building located centrally to the site area.
Key activities include supervision of scrap sorting; direct involvement in categorizing material stock brought to site; direction of and responsibility for team member activities; stock management; growth of the trading base through liaising and building relationships with stakeholders; communicating departmental requirements, performance and any incidents, with senior management.
All alloy materials must be sorted accurately, as essential to guarantee quality for onward sale. It is therefore preferable the applicant will have established competences in sorting including use of a handheld XRF analyser, familiarity in the association of material origin with alloy type, as well as a track record in effective trading and associated stock control.
The yard is a scene of continual bustling activity of heavy machinery and movements in scrap materials, so that the applicant should show risk awareness in ensuring Health and Safety procedures and relevant ISO standards are adhered to, alongside competence in managing and accounting for a continually evolving stock of diverse material alloys and forms in the yard environment.
While direct experience in stainless steel alloy scrap processing and trading is preferred, the position is suited to individuals from a broad range of related backgrounds with trading experience, for example: Waste Management / Scrap Metal Recycling / Aerospace Dismantling / Ferrous Metals / Metals Recycling Yard Manager. For such cases, tailored introductory support will be provided through our client's dedicated mentoring and training resources.
