Housing Options Officer required for our local authority client based in Bromley



Pay: £15 P/H

Hours : 08:30 - 17:00 37h P/W

Contract Length : 3 Months - Possibly Ongoing



THE ROLE: In Bromley, we are committed to providing housing services that help people to find and maintain housing solutions that truly meet their needs.



We are looking to recruit 2 enthusiastic Housing Options and Assessment Officers with the drive and commitment to deliver high-quality customer service and help us to clear our backlog cases. The successful candidates will need to be pro-active individuals, who can take an innovative approach to problem-solving, also be an effective negotiator, and can provide a high quality of service to applicants with housing needs.



The ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, landlords, accommodation providers, and partner organizations to achieve successful outcomes for our homeless applicants is essential for this role.

As well as experience in offering housing advice and assistance to applicants, applicants will also have sound knowledge of statutory homelessness legislation and obligations, including the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.



Applicants will need to work from the Civic Centre in Bromley, at least 2-3 days a week, and also take part in the service duty rota, which includes telephone duty. We promise a quick start for the right person!



Providing effective business support to meet the statutory and operational requirements.



Being awarevof policies, procedures, and statutory legislation that impacts on your role.

Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the companies Policies and Procedures.

Liaise effectively, professionally, and co-operatively with Business staff.

Provide cover for colleagues and undertake any other work assigned consistent with the duties and responsibilities of an agile workforce.

Maintain accurate and effective communication with line management ensuring that they are regularly appraised of planned changes and developments



Actively support continuous improvement by identifying service issues, threats, and opportunities/improvements.



Abilities/Experiences



Experience in providing excellent customer service functions ideally in a complex or regulated environment delivering high-quality services



Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.



Ability to maintain simple information, recording, and filing systems (manual and computerized).



Ability to enter, collate, compile, and distribute information consistently and effectively using a variety of methods best suited to meeting client outcomes



Experience with IT systems and how they support service delivery.



Experience in delivering service improvements through a program of continuous improvement.



Effectively working as part of a team.



Knowledge/Skills



Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products



Strong written and verbal communication skills.



Good phone manner.
