Senior Carer

Experienced Senior Carers are required to work within care homes in Leeds and the surrounding areas. As one of the core members of our care/nursing team you will have a huge impact on the quality of life for all our Service Users. Your enthusiasm, warmth and compassion are a fundamental part in helping them to feel respected, included and comfortable. You will promote the core values of care, help maintain independence, dignity, assist with personal hygiene and ensure the physical and emotional needs of our Service Users are met.

If you are looking for flexibility then this is the role for you! You can choose what days or nights you wish to work and shifts are 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am.

The ideal Senior Carer will have:

* Minimum 1 years' experience within a healthcare setting
* DBS online (if you don't have this we can help you get one)
* Up to date training certificates, including moving and handling (we also offer training if needed)
* Experience of working with clients with complex care needs (advantageous)
* Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening
* Have a caring and compassionate attitude
* Can commit to regular hours
* A passion for the health and social care sector

General Duties:

* Care of the elderly with dementia
* Maintain up to date documentation, care plans, charts etc
* Provide personal care
* Manual handling
* Promote mobility and independence
* Assist nursing staff with clinical duties
* Promote good relationships with Service Users, relatives, visitors and the care team
* Assist with the training of new care team members
* Communicate effectively with the nursing team
* Assist with the on-going assessments of the Service Users, reporting any changes
* Ensure confidentiality at all times
* Promote the reputation of the home
