Dutton Recruitment are recruiting for a Purchasing Manager for our client based in Rotherham.

The Role (But not limited to):

* Manage the day to day operations with regard to the buying, stock replenishment, and order fulfilment.
* Prioritise the purchasing of all goods with regard to the needs of the business.
* Provide the necessary purchasing information to all other departments as required.
* Provide financial information for future purchases to allow the company to make the necessary cash flow arrangements
* Set systems to provide for monitoring and managing the quality of all products purchased.
* Effective proactive liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality
* Effective proactive liaison with other departments re operating, resourcing, services as necessary, eg IT and Marketing
* Negotiating and administration of purchasing contracts
* Cost saving budgeting and targeting
* Setting and planning how to achieve supplier accreditation and service level management where necessary.
* Administration and reporting as necessary
* Accounting evaluation and financial justification
* Outsourcing strategy/development/management
* Payment terms negotiation, optimisation and management
* Stock and materials management
* Warehousing, distribution, shipping management and effective liaison with other departments as required
* Packaging and transport regulatory awareness, compliance and information communication
* Health and safety compliance
* International trading issues/imports/legal, awareness and management

Candidate Requirements:

* Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to hit the ground running.
* Highly organised with some experience of purchasing and able to prioritise to best achieve maximum results from available resources
* Proven track record within a fast moving, preferably retail business
* Strong business acumen especially with regard to helping achieve the wider business objectives of the company.
* Able to work independently but also a good team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
* Some experience of internet retailing would be an advantage but not essential
* Well organised with excellent attention to detail and willing to adopt a hands on approach.
* Ability to manage several projects at one time and meet agreed deadlines.
* Used to working in a fast paced environment and able to keep a cool head whilst multi tasking.
* A results driven individual with a keen interest in fashion would be an advantage.
