Dutton Recruitment are recruiting for:
A Project Manager for a permanent role for our client based in the Sheffield area.
Summary of Position:
* To manage projects on behalf of the client across a number of sectors including mining & tunnelling, nuclear & defence and general engineering
* To act as customer contact and retain overall responsibility for successful delivery of projects to time, quality and budget.
* To support the securing new work by fulfilling the role of bid manager and coordinating the inputs to bids/estimates
* Ensure project critical path activities are pro-actively managed
* Ensure project health and safety requirements are understood and adequately resourced by the project team
* Manage the commercial relationship with customer and act as the "first line of defence"
* Work with DM Teams Leaders and the appointed DM Manufacturing Engineer within a matrix environment in order to ensure projects are adequately planned and resourced
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Arrange customer start up meeting, act as principal customer contact, ensure their requirements are properly interpreted and reflected in deliverables and establish and maintain a positive working relationship throughout the project duration.
* Provide safety leadership and deliver projects in a safe manner whilst minimising environmental impact.
* Ensure risk assessments are prepared when required and that other CDM obligations are fulfilled
* Manage internal and sub-contractor relationships
* Provide leadership and direction to the project team e.g. Manufacturing Engineer, Planner, Quality Engineer and Materials Controller
* Ensure that DM comply with all statutory and regulatory provisions and CDM Regulations where applicable.
* Ensure project schedules and costs are regularly reviewed, that invoices are raised and submitted in a timely manner and that effective change control procedures are established and adhered to throughout the project duration.
* Ensure regular effective communication with clients and project teams
* Review and approval of Project reports
* Ensure projects are closed and archived and complete the lessons learn process
Qualifications / Knowledge:
* Engineering degree (preferable) or equivalent experience
* Full Membership of the Association of Project Management (or working toward)
* Seven years' experience of managing multi-disciplinary projects with record of success.
* Experience in a Manufacturing or a Nuclear/Defense sector environment.
* A proven record of success working with multiple suppliers and sub-contractors.
