A Project Engineer for a permanent in the Matlock area to start as soon as possible.

The Role:

To identify process improvements that will reduce costs, improve plant availability and increase process productivity / performance. To implement, in a timely and cost efficient manner, the design, construction, installation and commissioning of CAPEX engineering projects which satisfy these proposals, or those of the business plan, from conception to final implementation whilst maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, environmental and energy compliance.



Key Accountabilities & Duties

Responsibilities include:



* Identify problems or areas of potential improvement within processes and propose solutions.

* Responsible for initiating, managing and implementing all CAPEX projects across the site.
* Provide project management functions consistent with the business plan.
* Set up meetings as necessary with individual stakeholders or departments within the company and/or with suppliers and contractors to agree solutions /timescales/resource requirements.

* Produce detailed budgets, drawings, specifications etc. in support of process improvements and projects to ensure timely and successful completion.

* Identify potential suppliers and contractors and verify their suitability and capabilities.
* Obtain competitive quotations for all work that is to be carried out and select the supplier/contractor that is most suitable.

* Ensure the client's and statutory regulations are implemented correctly, including the Permit to Work system.

* Ensure the adequate induction and supervision of contractors including the production of comprehensive Permit to Work documentation.

* Ensure that Risk Assessments & Method Statements are completed for any task where deemed appropriate and ensure that any risks identified are assessed to reduce a potential risk.

* Resolve any issues/problems that arise during the installation process to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.

* Liaise with other departments within the Company and elsewhere and co-ordinate all work to ensure the minimum disruption of operating plant.

* Ensure the impact of modifications/improvements /installations are fully understood by the end user and those otherwise involved in the process.

* Identify the need for training which would give new or improved skills and assist working methods.

* Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field by continuous improvement by the systematic review of appropriate literature.

* Undertake any additional duties required by the Site Director to achieve business goals/objectives which are not stipulated in the above points.





The Candidate



You will be an experienced Project Engineer and you must demonstrate the following:



* Previous experience working as Project Engineer in relevant industries.
* Experience with technical documentation, drawings, specifications and quotes.
* Experience working with external contractors and technical services.
* Familiar with statutory regulations and permit to work systems.
* Experience commissioning projects >£0.5M.
* Achieved a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
* A broad knowledge of a variety of engineering disciplines.
* Be able to provide technical solutions and proposals.
* Analytical & problem solving skills are essential.
* The ability to deliver/explain/influence strategies to at all level within the business.
* A sound working knowledge of change management.
* Communicate with people at all levels in a professional manner.
* Be competent in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
* Knowledge of PLC systems would be advantageous.
* Have a flexible work ethic and be able to work under pressure.



Remuneration



* Salary will be up to current Project Engineers salary based on candidate profile.
* Defined contribution pension scheme, with up to 10% company contributions (if employee pays 5%)

* Hours: 8.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. (Monday - Friday), with a 45 minute break each day.
