
Housing & Delivery Regeneration Manager required for our local authority client based in Gloucestershire
£650 per day
THE ROLE:
To lead on the construction and progression of community design led planning strategies and Masterplans, on behalf of the council in complex partnership settings, for key sustainable locations.
Lead multiple large scale, complex, high profile infrastructure and regeneration projects with cross-departmental impacts working collaboratively and in partnership with multiple stakeholders.
Lead in securing additional funding for regeneration, place-making and related infrastructure projects with appropriate commissioning and/or assessment of private-sector resource opportunities
Co-ordinating and leading advice and support to the Leader and Chief Executive. Leading on the identification and assessment of local, sub-regional, regional and national policy developments, strategies, initiatives, projects and work programmes and identifying the impact on South Gloucestershire
Be creative about the future of people, place and the economy with an understanding of Government Policy, the demands and ambitions of local communities and the opportunities of technological advancement
Focus on delivery through robust project management principles, to scope out delivery strategies into programme plans. Bring forward deliverable strategies and identify and cost necessary enabling works, keeping the Leader and Chief Executive fully briefed. This also involves briefing and informing elected members in order to gain their involvement and commitment to the high level sub-regional vision and objectives of the project/initiative.
Manage projects, enabling works, consultants and activities within allocated budgets, in accordance with Council standing orders and regulations
Engender trust with all to provide professional and community support required for place change.
Change and adapt approaches for different circumstances.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
You will hold a relevant degree or an equivalent level academic qualification or experience of an equivalent level.
You will have excellent leadership skills and use these to inspire, celebrating success and recognising good work, motivating and ensuring development of your teams to enable excellent performance.
You will have substantial managerial experience organising and co-ordinating a related area.
You may hold a professional qualification in any directly relevant discipline.
You will have proven business and people managerial experience in the relevant is area.
You will be able to think and act strategically, solve problems and make decisions.
You will have an applied understanding of the technical issues in your service.
You will have experience of designing and managing resources within the function to meet organisational requirements.
You will be skilled at communication and building alliances and networks with partners and communities, under the direction of senior leaders be able to negotiate and influence and work in a collaborative way to achieve shared objectives.
You will be able to understand the organisation's requirements and expectations of the service, quickly assess and respond to changing pressures and requirements, set clear goals and priorities across the service, and put strategies in place to achieve these.
You will be able to deal with confidential and highly sensitive issues.
Able to demonstrate the Council's values and behaviours.
