We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant for a permanent position based in Sheffield.
Immediate start available (pending interview process).
Salary depending on experience.
Working Full Time 38.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday).
Main purposes of job
Purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met to ensure continuity of supply.
Key tasks
* Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
* Communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
* Prepare, send and follow up basic enquiries with suppliers
* Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns, in particular when there is a risk which could prevent the organisation meeting customer demands or where there are over capacity concerns
* Support product change requests and review and communicate the impact on capacity plans
* Work to standardised processes underpinned by continuous improvement.
* Cross-training within the department to ensure full cover of all activities
* Assist with supplier audit administration
* Assist with internal and external audits
* Support in maintaining stock codes, costs, prices and product data in the company ERP (Syteline)
* Work with logistics, accounts and suppliers to resolve discrepancies
* Collect and analyse data including reporting KPIs and supplier scorecard.
Person Specification
* Previous experience within a similar role
* Understanding of ERP system and good computer skills
* Good communication skills
* Keen attention to detail and accuracy
* Resilient and welcomes change
