We are currently looking for Project Manager for our client based in the Barnsley area.
Role overview:
Ensure the successful execution, delivery, and installation of all project deliverables on time, within budget and to a high degree of quality.
Main activities/responsibilities/key tasks, including, but not limited to:
* Hold handover meeting with Sales to take formal ownership of projects
* Understand contractual obligations and identify, evaluate, and execute compensation events considering commercial, design and programme impacts
* Commence and perform site activities in line with customer requirements
* Perform project risk analysis, creation, and maintenance of risk register; implement mitigation measures and manage the risk accordingly
* Identify, create, and approve project specific documentation to support delivery of work scope and produce master document register
* Attend site as necessary to fully appreciate limitations, restrictions, access, HSE requirements, scaffolding requirements etc.
* Obtain documentation from the customer (drawings, layouts, specifications, programme etc.), (drawings, RAMS, programme etc.), and from suppliers (COSSH sheets, RAMS, drawings etc.)
* Ensure qualified, competent, and experienced workforce is available to attend site to perform contracted work scope: site installation of temporary works, permanent equipment, and structures
* Ensure the following is available to support site operations:
* Equipment to be installed (bearings, waterproofing, expansion joint, permanently installed structures etc.)
* Temporary Works, jacks, propping equipment etc (calibrated if applicable)
* Tooling and plant hire (calibrated if applicable)
* Liaise regularly with all project stakeholders via phone calls, meetings, regular reports, conference calls, site attendance: engineering, manufacturing, and Installation Engineer to identify and manage areas of concern, progress, and challenges to ensure successful and timely resolution of issues
* Attend, participate, and chair weekly project progress meetings and daily maintenance of project action tracker spreadsheet
* Create, maintain, and manage project performance against milestone dates and KPIs and ensure deadlines are met
* Identify and resolve technical issues relating to challenging projects with support from relevant departments
* Arrange for creation, maintenance, receipt, and applications for payment of all purchase orders within LN
* Achieve successful handover completion and secure sign off certificate
* Perform lessons learned exercise and agree and implement preventive measures for future bids and projects
* Manage customer expectations to promote repeat business through developing working relationships, regular communication with all internal and external project stake holders
* Support other members of the team as required

* The employee must be able to demonstrate analytical skills to make strategic decisions in relation to their area
* Whilst always having the support of their manager, the role requires someone who is confident and able to make decisions
Performance Measures (KPIs):
* Adaptability, flexibility, and capability: measurable via annual appraisals

* Customer service: minimise overdue orders; maximise customer satisfaction/interpret requirements
* Timely completion of tasks/projects and completion/submission of reports in a professional manner and to agreed time targets

* Customer Services, Marketing, Design, Specifiers, Engineers, Builders Merchants, Specialist Distributors, Estimating Team, Sales, other technical experts, and a wide range of contractors
Knowledge, skills and experience:
* Educated to Degree level
* Approximately 3-5 years' experience is needed to perform the job at a competent level
* Solid background in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Construction Engineering
* Ability to display sound judgement and business acumen
* Knowledge of bridge/construction industry/bridge bearings, expansion joints (desirable/essential)
* Proven understanding of structural movement and large civil engineering projects, specifically bridges
* A general understanding of concrete repair, specialist coatings, grout, bedding mortar and sealant products
* Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
* Knowledge of specialist sub-contract trades
* Proven experience of, and can demonstrate excellent technical skills
* Proven experience of working with multiple discipline projects; working within a challenging engineering/manufacturing environment
* Experience of working in a multi-site environment (desirable)
* Background within medium/high volume manufacturing/engineering/construction environment
* Highly experienced in working under own initiative, demonstrating an ability to set & meet personal targets, combined with the flexibility to adjust to workload priorities to take account of new deadlines
* Interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to customer service; build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and sub-contractors
* Awareness of wider Company issues and relevant legislation. Required to keep informed of changes in legislation and departmental policy to deliver correct advice
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload, maintain confidentiality, and produce/process documents accurately
* Good written and numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* IT knowledge, including Microsoft 365 Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Lotus Notes (LN)
* A flexible, forward-thinking approach to work, along with the ability to work as part of a team
* Full UK Driver's Licence and valid Passport
