We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to join our client's Mould Repair Department as a Mould Repair Machinist at their West Yorkshire site in Knottingley.
This is a day position, working 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 2.00pm and Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm.
Salary is £28,520 per annum.
Reporting to the Mould Shop Manager, the purpose of the role is to assist and support this busy Department which services their glass forming production area, through the repair, refurbishment, and supply of mould equipment, weighing in the range of 5kg to 45kg, to ensure all mould equipment and accompanying auxiliary parts are repaired and ready for production runs in accordance with production requirements.
Suitable candidates should be fully apprentice-trained or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English, together with excellent problem-solving skills, and may be required to undertake an aptitude test to demonstrate this.
You should also be enthusiastic and committed, with a pro-active and flexible approach to work. The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise your workload is also essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be an advantage, however not essential.
