Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for

Manual Machinists for permanent positions in Sheffield for immediate starts.

There will be both days and night shifts involved, so flexibility is essential.

Purpose of the role:

Proof machining of centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries in a range of stainless alloys.

Duties and responsibilites:

* An ability to machine large castings to small tolerances using manual milling/turning machines

* An ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Visual inspection of machined castings

* Marking up of swarf drums (alloy identification)

* To work as part of a team with minimun supervision

* Versatility to work a variety of machines

* Understanding of quality issues



Essential experience required:

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and translate this into producing dimensionally correct components

* Overhead crane licence

* Ability to read measuring equipment

* H&S awareness

* Environmental awareness

* Flexibility

* Good communication skills

* Understanding of quality issues

* Shift working



Preferable qualifications/experience

* Basic H&S certification

* Basic Environmental certification/training

* Manual Handling experience

* Pendant Crane, Lifting & Slinging experience

* Experience of modern manufacturing techniques

Shift pattern:

Days:

Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 4:00pm

Nights:

Monday to Thursday 8:00pm to 6:00am

There will be applicable shift allowances for days and nights.

Rate of pay is £11.92 per hour based on a 37 hour week with potential uplifts depending on experience.
