We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter for a permanent position on Drax Power Station
Background and Purpose of the Role:
Summary of why the role exists and the role in the context of the organisational structure
The Fitter/Rigger role exists within the maintenance team to support our client's Maintenance contract at Drax Power Station.
Impact and Key Deliverables:
Scope of the impact the role has (e.g. financial, staff, geographical spread)
Carrying out PPM and RCM as per site schedules
· Rigging, Slinging and Lifting activities across the contract
· Carrying out planned defect repairs on all mechanical equipment in the service delivery scope
· Attending, diagnosing, and agreeing repair processes for plant breakdowns
· Carrying out site operational tasks in accordance with training, site procedures and supervisor instructions
· Completing all necessary documents, reports and records
· Working with the operational department to effectively carry out maintenance work
· Providing an efficient and professional support service to the operational plant requirements
· Identifying and implementing continuous improvements and innovations
· Harmonisation with other teams and clients
· Providing full flexibility to carry out required operational duties
· Collating, collaborating, and communicating the annual maintenance plan to all stakeholders (HIS and client)
· Understanding PLC control systems including inputs/outputs and the field-based transducers they are connected to
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Relevant qualifications and experience the ideal candidate will require
· Qualified Rigging & Slinging with significant experience
· Good communication skills, both with colleagues, other contractors and clients
· SHEQ requirement
o Safety Rules PFW acceptor trained
o Risk assessment training
o Manual handling training
o COSHH awareness training
· CPCS safety passport or equivalent
· Maintenance qualification (City & Guilds part 3/ NVQ level 2/3 in joint discipline)

Essential personal attributes and behavioural traits the individual must possess.
· A strong team player with the ability to work independently and on own initiative
· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines safely
· Is self-motivated to identify improvements within our work area and takes action to implement these successfully
· Positive attitude towards health and safety
· Approach work positively with a can-do attitude
· Act on own initiative without being prompted
· Seeing all work through to completion
A typical working week is 38.5 hours per week and the hourly rate is £17.00 per hour.
