As we pass the halfway point of 2017, Dutton Recruitment is stronger than ever. With excellent growth figures, and all of our branches going from strength to strength, our growth looks set to continue. But, much like the quality of our service, something that never changes is the employee experience at Dutton Recruitment.

There are many things that make for a good company to work for - fun or quirky things can make an office feel more relaxed, and make for a better working environment. However many companies, Dutton included, have these things. So what sets Dutton Recruitment apart?

We caught up with CEO Adam Sheekey, now well into his first year in the position, about what he thinks makes Dutton great to work for, and about his time here.

“I joined the business as a young man back in July 2000. I'd heard all the good and bad things about recruitment, mostly bad. I can honestly say that the warmth, honesty and hard work of my colleagues really helped me to settle in and feel part of Dutton family.

Since my promotion to CEO these are trends and practices that I have continued and why all recent additions to our business are now flourishing. Many of our staff have been with the business most of their working lives - we are clearly doing something right!”

On the subject of staff retention, the evidence at Dutton is clear. Employees such as our 18 year-serving Engineering Manager Paul Harcourt said that Dutton Recruitment gives you a “worthwhile career and not just a job”, recognising that Dutton’s success over its 35 years has come from its excellent management, but also its “ability to plan growth carefully and listen to people”. People such as Paul are common at Dutton Recruitment, with many of our staff having over 10 years of experience at Dutton.

However we are not just focused on staff retention – growth and adaptation is also crucial to us. New Recruitment Consultant Max Pemberton was headhunted almost half a year ago and says:

“Dutton is a successful, national company with an outstanding reputation for offering a professional service - I wanted to learn from the best!”

He is a clear example of the beginning of this process, and how Dutton is still constantly investing in new people how it so effectively invested in those like Paul.
