We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager for a permanent position in the South Yorkshire area.

Immediate start available.

This will be working with an established engineering client, so experience within an engineering environment is essential.

Business Need/Purpose of Role:

Manages sales, controls costs, maximizes profits and develops new sales. Provides recommendations and customer information in the development and implementation of product improvements and new products to meet the needs of the market. Develops, manages and expands sales. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing resources providing technical information and expertise. Supports customers in the technical development of products and services for both new products and product improvement. Analyses products and generates costings providing relevant quotes to customers.

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for driving and delivering key financial results and expanding core and complementary products and services; maximizing sales year over year while ensuring and maintaining appropriate profit margins.
* Exhibits consistent track record of exceeding sales forecasts.
* Maintains and updates strategic business plans for site growth,
* Works directly with customers to understand technical requirements and develops engineered solutions.
* Routinely meets with the management group to develop sales strategies and goals to support local and division markets.
* Works directly with Engineering and manufacturing resources developing new product and providing technical expertise
* Provides voice of the customer to manufacturing and engineering, illustrating product and performance requirements.
* Supports management of inventories, working directly with Supply Chain to meet inventory targets.
* Interacts with internal and external managers, leads, peers, and customers to support sales objectives, develop opportunities, and plan processes.
* May involve international travel.
* Prepare forecast plan and quarterly estimates.
* Report weekly on orders and activities.
* Prepare and follow up quotations/tenders in a timely manner.
* Visit customers according to call plan.
* Prepare field trip reports and file notes on customer meetings.
* Develop and maintain effective business relationships and key account profiles with customers. Know key decision makers at customers.
* Administrate orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Actively prospect new business.
* Identify, record, and recommend or initiate action to solve any problems relating to product or process quality.
* Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
* Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety management and policy commitments as prescribed for this role in client's Duty of Care.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

* Requires related Bachelors degree in Technical / engineering discipline
* Minimum of 5 years Management and Sales experience, and depth and breadth of expertise.
* Fluent English and other languages would be further asset
* ERP and CRM experience would be beneficial.
* Working Environment: : Principally office based role will be required to visit customers' sites, may be required to visit underground mine sites in multiple locations and off shore locations.
* Physical Demands: May on occasion be required to work in hot and cramped environment i.e underground mine locations,
* May be required to work in noisy environment
* Occasional need to lift heavy items up to 25kg
* Travel Requirements: 35% travel globally

Salary is between £55,000 and £60,000 per annum plus other relevant beneifts (Eg, company veichle and bonus scheme).
