Instrument Service Engineer / Calibration Technician (temperature, pressure, flow, analytical and level) required immediately for a permanent position to cover the North of England along with a dedicated team.

The candidate will ideally be based in the Greater Manchester but is not essential.

Salary is negotiable (dependent on experience and qualifications) with company Vehicle (van - for field position) and excellent benefits (see below).

The position is working Mon - Fri days (40hrs/week with some possible o/t) based over the core business hours, this is a fantastic opportunity with long term security and career prospects.



Job Summary: The successful candidate will commission, calibrate, service, fault find and repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.



Service Engineer / Calibration Technician (Instrumentation) day to day duties will include:

* Commission, calibrate and repair onsite and offsite instrumentation.
* To liaise with the service co-ordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties.
* To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated.
* To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments.
* To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and company quality management system.
* To provide timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with company service report forms.
* Occasional overnight stays.

To be suitable for this Service Engineer/Calibration Technician (Instrumentation) role you must have the following experience / characteristics:

* Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level preferably in electronics or instrumentation of control.
* Ideally will have completed a relevant Instrumentation / Process Control apprenticeship
* Recently commissioned, calibrated, service / fault find and repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
* Problem solving and diagnostic skills.
* To be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* A flexible approach to working activities.
* Excellent Communication skills, both verbally and written.
* The Ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
* Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.

The successful Field Service Engineer (Instrumentation) / On-Site Instrument Calibration Engineer will need to be flexible as there may be overtime, willing to stay away from home occasionally and other duties not mentioned in this job description.

You will have standard level education, have the relevant qualifications and experience, possess good communicational and organisational skills, able to work under pressure, keen and have a practical approach to work.
