A RF Design Engineer for a permanent position.
Our client is an exciting company with fantastic growth opportunities within the business.
They are now seeking an RF Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in Sheffield
The RF Design Engineer will work closely with a small team of highly-skilled engineers to help to design and develop innovative and complex Radio Frequency related products and systems.
Primary Responsibilities of the RF Design Engineer:
-RF system architecture and circuit design linear high-power wide band RF amplifiers up to 200watts using for example, GaN and LDMOS technology.
-RF simulation using large and small signal models.
-Design of linear high-power wide band RF amplifiers up to 200watts.
-Design of associated DC supplies including switch mode power supplies (SMPS) and DC sequencing circuitry for power amplifiers.
-Design of up convertors and down convertors.
Skills & Experience Required for the RF Design Engineer:
-Degree in an engineering related discipline and/or previous experience (10 years+ preferably) as a design engineer.
-Design experience and a thorough understanding of RF communication systems/products.
-Practical experience of testing prototype RF circuitry using standard RF laboratory equipment.
-Proven track record using Microwave Office.
-PCB design layout experience.
-Good understanding of designing linear RF systems, Digital modulation techniques -particularly COFDM and an excellent knowledge of the latest RF components and technologies.
-DESIRABLE: Experience in 3D mechanical design.
