Project Engineer (Construction) required for an exciting permanent opportunity based in East London.

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum

THE ROLE:

The responsibilities of the department Project Engineer will include but are not limited to the following:



To support the department by providing UK wide site-based coordination and supervision of internal

and sub-contracted multi-disciplined labour for secured projects.



When not site based, the role will include the scoping, surveying, and pricing of tenders across the UK, generating quotations, ordering materials and assisting the wider project team as required.

The role is client facing, requiring a presentable and professional approach at all times.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaise with colleagues to gain a full understanding of the project requirements.



Assist with programming, scheduling of works, and labour allocation.



Oversee and coordinate the mobilisation of projects.



Assist the H&S Team with the generation of CDM PCI, CPP and site plans where relevant.



Review sub-contractor RAMS and generate Metropolitan proforma documents for submission to the client.



Deliver Toolbox talks, Pre-start briefings and CDM inductions where relevant.



Promote company services' rules and establish safe working cultures and practices.



Liaise with colleagues to highlight key risks or concerns.



Authorised Person responsibilities (AP) - Trade / Capability specific.



Issue permits to work to company sub-contractors - Capability specific.



Be willing to upskill where additional training is deemed a requirement to deliver the works successfully.



Attend client progress meetings and report on project progress.



Liaise with customers, build relationships and promote the business.



Comply with company procedures and legal obligations.



Promote and comply with environmental compliance policies.



Deliver the works safely and to the highest standards in quality.



Endeavour to ensure work is delivered defect/snag free.



Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities.



Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements.



Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or problems that may arise on site.



Liaise with Project Managers and plan procurement activities to ensure adequate resources to complete the tasks in a safe and timely manner.



Review and report on progress in conjunction with construction programmes.



Provide technical support and guidance.



Timely handover of works and supporting with O&M manual generation, providing information to support in the generation of the CDM H&S File.



Liaising with Project Managers and wider team members.



When not site based, progress customer enquiries, surveys sites, generate competitive quotations with support of company management with larger tenders.



Work away from home as the business requires.



Work overtime during weekdays, at weekends or on nights as the business requires



KEY MEASURES & TARGETS



Ensure company procedures are followed and all documentation is completed in a timely manner.



Generate new opportunities, upsell the company as a solid business, secure additional works where possible.



Ensure a courteous, polite, and professional service is delivered to customers.



Ensure the safe delivery of projects with a coordinated and methodical approach, in accordance with best practice, on time, within budget and to the highest of standards.



Positive Customer feedback / service satisfaction, respect for colleagues and time management.
