We are looking for a Paint Technician Team Leader for a permanent position in Hull.
Assist with production requirements within the Plant when required
* Promote and ensure a safe working and environmentally secure environment at all times, and ensure adequate representation is made at Health and Safety meetings
* Maintain the highest levels of housekeeping with the effective use of 5S
* Coordinate all autonomous maintenance activity on the paint plant and packaging lines
* Coordinate paint plant operation, manning levels and efficiency of the area
* Operate in accordance with the planned maintenance system
* Ensure Standard Operations & Risk Assessments are in place and reviewed/updated as necessary
* Recommend and implement improvements with the effective use of OEE and root cause analysis
* Lead by example at all times and motivate team members to ensure balanced scorecard KPI targets are met or exceeded
* Play a lead role in promoting continuous improvement; proactively seek to establish best practice work standards and practices and identify waste and losses (time and material) then investigate their root causes and implement solutions
* Motivate and coach team members and develop their skills through regular training, coaching and performance reviews/feedback
* Work as part of the wider Leadership Team within UK Operations and contribute to the process of ongoing continuous improvement
* Establish and encourage a firm SQCDM approach to the paint plant and present weekly results
* Measure quality and improvements and give feedback to the team each week
* Ensure all relevant information about the paint plant is fed back via the daily team briefings
* Carry out return to work interviews with a view to reducing sickness through mentoring and support
* Understand and manage the Quality Management and Health and Safety systems from the shop floor
* Ensure Safe Working within the area at all times
* Manage, coach and mentor a team over 2 shifts
* Control the main paint plant systems (pre-treatment, wet coat ovens and powder control)
* Control quality, ensuring the highest possible paint finish on all products
* Control film build thickness
* Carry out daily and weekly planned autonomous maintenance
* Ensure the Paint Plant runs as efficiently as possible, using root cause analysis and Kaizen tools
* Ensure a high standard of housekeeping in the area at all times
