Construction Project Manager

Our client is looking for a PM, to Manage and leading the project team, working closely to ensure programmes are maintained and quality standards remain high

to ensure that the projects are run smoothly as possible from start to finish. Reporting to the operations director and attending site and customer meetings as appropriate



Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan

Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan.

Time estimating and allocation, ensuring adequate time is allocated to the project to ensure a realistic and safe time frame for the project plan

Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary with the operations manager

Monitoring project progress and performance updating the operations manager and clients regularly on progress and developments

Resource planning, ensure that the correct number of required operatives and personnel are appointed to the project

Cost management, monitoring and reviewing of all costs throughout the duration of the project and escalate any issues with the operations manager and client

Documentation, manage and control ensuring all documentation incoming and outgoing is carried out in a timely and professional manner

Communicate and implement HSE guidance and the company's safety policies and procedures.

Appoint and monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that projects are delivered safely, in a timely manner and on budget.

Ordering of materials/plant, management of deliveries and deadlines of goods ordered.

Liaise with team leaders on site issues, report issues that cannot be resolved.

To ensure method statements are safe and effective and fulfil the health and safety policies

To complete random site visits to Team Leaders to allow a closer eye on installations

To ensure all Team Leaders are technically trained and competent to complete all tasks given.

To support accounts to ensure timely invoicing of projects.

Escalate customer complaints to Operations Manager where appropriate.



Daily tasks:



Prioritize work load for following day.

Check own actions planned and/or are executed.

Daily huddles with Operations Manager to update status of live projects.

Daily client/suppliers liaison to ensure everything is on target.

Keep Operations Manager informed of the status of each project and to flag up any anticipated delays for whatever reason as soon as possible.

Plan and manage your time efficiently to ensure that all tasks and objectives are completed on time and to an adequate standard.

To ensure the daily project reports are sent out to the client before 8am the following day.

Organizing the various subcontractors and suppliers working on a project.

Team building and motivation.

Ensure that the variation logs are kept up to date on all projects and clients are updated.

Ensure to be prepared with all the documentation for the weekly meeting with the Operations Director.
