Caretaker required for our local authority client based in Rotherham.
THE ROLE:
The post holder will ensure the security, safety, cleanliness, maintenance and repair of Council buildings, including being a key holder, which includes travelling to various locations throughout the Borough with the use of a fleet vehicle.
To ensure that nominated buildings are secure when locking, that alarms are set and points of entry/exit are secure, in accordance with all current health and safety requirements.
Conduct regular and reactive sweeps of nominated buildings with emphasis on maintaining building and customer security at all times
General and planned preventative maintenance of nominated buildings and their contents to include carrying out re-active/emergency repairs
Within scope of PPM incorporate scheduled building fascia cleaning and maintenance and minor grounds maintenance.
To liaise with/escort contractors when attending nominated buildings and accept planned deliveries and provide a transfer management service for delivered items, within scope of nominated buildings.
To ensure stock levels are maintained in nominated buildings in consultation with Caretaker Supervisor and ensure meeting/conference facilities are maintained within the agreed specification.
During winter months ensure daily gritting/winter maintenance of nominated buildings is carried out
To undertake P.A.T testing of portable electrical equipment and maintain the inventory and monitoring of schedules to comply with regulations.
To operate parking access system in nominated buildings within accepted arrangements.
Provide assistance in connection with implementation of recycling systems within
nominated buildings.
On a daily basis remove items left in office space in line with Worksmart arrangements/accepted protocol
Carry out Portable Appliance Testing in nominated buildings as and when required.
A two week shift rota system is in place, the successful candidates will work one week 6 am to 2 pm and the next week 1 pm to 9 pm. There is also a requirement to work weekends and provide emergency call out cover.
