JOB PURPOSE

The Asset Manager's role is focused on assisting delivery of the full market value from a portfolio of wind farms over their lifetime. The post holder is a member of the Asset Operations Team and will assist with reviewing and assessing the plant physical impacts, technical risks, environmental effects and for managing all key asset stakeholders. In addition the Asset Manager will schedule and co-ordinate repairs and maintenance.

Nature and Scope

The Asset Manager will report to the Lead Asset Manager and will have a key role in the development and implementation of O&M plans, and the development of systems and procedures for the operation of the wind farms. The job holder will also be expected to manage, supervise and report on the performance of the wind farms, both internally and externally.

The Asset Manager will take ownership for the wind farms in the allocated region, knowing all operational and contractual aspects of the wind farms and will be responsible for raising appropriate purchase orders, ensuring payments are being made and that activities are completed according to contract, schedule and budget.



Role and Responsibilities

1 Manage the day to day activities at a number of allocated assets
2 Management of health and safety aspects at the allocated assets
3 Asset Mangers regularly set people to work, and as such have responsibility of the highest order to the people working on the wind farms, and for the safety of everyone coming on to the sites.
4 Ensuring that contractors have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities and have the appropriate training to deliver their scope in an effective and safe manner.
5 Developing and implementing strategy and resource plans to manage the planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and inspections that ensure wind farm performance targets can be met.
6 Maintaining close working relationships
7 Ensuring a smooth and effective transition between the construction phase and the operating phase of newly developed assets by working with internal and external stakeholders.
8 Producing and managing information required by the management and finance teams to produce proposed budget and Medium Term Plans (MTP) for each operating asset.



1 Assist with reports and board papers to provide business updates to the board
2 Management of allocated aspects of the Asset Management Agreements which are in place to manage wind farms with equity investors.
3 Working with the Asset Management team on the development of a management review framework to:



* Measure and monitor performance
* Evaluate legal compliance
* Audit wind farm operational risk level
* Monitor contractor performance
* Plans are tested and reviewed regularly
* All staff and contractors are aware of their responsibilities and contribution
* Outages are minimised
* Incidents are dealt with effectively and safely
* Ensure the reputation for effective incident management is maintained.



ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:



* Strong asset management experience (including P&L management and understanding of O&M activities).
* Strong awareness of the Health and Safety requirements
* Experience of managing people (direct or indirect)
* Excellent analytical thinking and capability to effectively present and communicate key findings and recommendations
* Strong at building relationships with internal and external parties
* Able to work effectively across a business with strong influencing skills
* Preferably a postgraduate qualification in a numerate discipline or ability to demonstrate commensurate experience
* Substantial experience of the renewable industry a clear advantage
* Commercial negotiation experience within the renewable sector an advantage
