Quick-fire Q&A - Vikki Callanan

Today we’re talking to Vikki Callanan, our new training and development officer.

A major part of her role is the training and positive onboarding of new recruits, along with the development of existing team members where required. She will also be supporting business areas with internal recruitment requirements.

What was your first ever job?

My first 9-5 job was a travel agent at Apollo Travel.

How long have you been in recruitment?

About 15 years!

What's your favourite thing about the industry?

It’s a complete rollercoaster of a journey, where no two days are the same. I get great job satisfaction finding the right opportunity for the right candidate. 

...and your least favourite thing?

There are always the odd days that when one thing goes wrong, you can then guarantee everything goes wrong! 

What made you want to join Dutton Recruitment?

Straight away, I was really excited by this brand-new opportunity that Dutton has given me. It gives me the chance to combine my last 20 years’ worth of experience all into one role. 

What's something you can't live without at work?

Good team colleagues.

Tea or Coffee?

Coffee...strong!

What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

It has to be family time. Whether we're out on a 10-mile hike, cheering on the Owls or just chilling at home together!

What is your main goal at Dutton Recruitment?

To provide strong training and development support to both new and existing employees. Hopefully this will allow individuals to thrive within their roles, which, in turn will mean that I will be thriving in my role too!

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Cuba. Blue skies and blue waters, soaking in the culture...perfect.
