Quick-fire Q&A - Gareth Stevens

This week we’re talking to Gareth Stevens, our Cardiff Branch Manager. His role is to develop new opportunities with prospective clients and ensure they receive an excellent service. He’s also at the forefront of our European operations, which has certainly been keeping him busy.

1. What was your first ever job?

Putting Sunday magazines into papers at the local newsagent because I was too young to have a paper round! Plus, the Sunday papers were really heavy…

2. How long have you been in recruitment?

18 years!

3. What's your favourite thing about recruitment?

There is a lot of variation day to day, so you never know what to expect!

4. ...and your least favourite thing?

When a challenging job comes in and you get that worry you might struggle to fill it.

5. What made you want to join Dutton Recruitment?

I wanted to join Dutton as you have a real opportunity to build a successful business here as long as you put in the hard work.

6. What's something you can't live without at work?

My phone!

7. Tea or Coffee?

Coffee is my favourite, but I wouldn’t say no to a tea.

8. What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

Football! Playing it, coaching it for my sons’ team, and going to see it - when Cardiff City win anyway…

9. What is your main goal at Dutton Recruitment?

Continuing to create exciting new opportunities for the business.

10. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Probably India - I know a few people who’ve been and said it’s a wonderful country. I’m interested in wildlife and nature so would love to do some type of safari.
