Branch-Watch - Sheffield

As you may know, Sheffield is the home of our Headquarters. It is not only the branch with the most employees, but one of our longest-standing locations.

We first opened a branch in Sheffield in the mid-1990s, during our time as ‘Dutton International’. This branch very quickly grew, and we became a well-known recruitment name in the area for Engineering and Trades. At this point, the business was predominantly known for these sectors, due to its roots with 'Welding International' and Harry Dutton, and so the Sheffield Branch contributed well and helped drive our specialisms further.

Over the coming years the company diversified into other industries, with this branch following – the most notable of course being the Sheffield Nursing & Medical desk. As we opened offices in more and more areas of the UK, and grew as a business, we moved into new sectors and our image began to develop. Our Sheffield Branch certainly played a central role in this development.

In the next decade, the branch itself went through lots of other changes. It became our HQ, which was crucial in a business that was spreading throughout the UK. Over the years, the branch has helped to bring together our various offices whilst also helping us to maintain a connection to our heritage as a business.

There was also the exciting office-move to the wonderful Portland House, which enabled the branch to stand out not only in the Sheffield area, but as a Headquarters. The excellent size of the new office-space, as well as its facilities, provided a place where our growing number of management staff could meet and plan the future of Dutton.

Through all of the changes the branch has experienced, it has always played a central role in Dutton Recruitment’s story. The Branch currently boasts thriving desks in Engineering, Construction and Nursing & Medical, as well as being the location of our fantastic back-office team!

We are proud to call the city our HQ.
